What should I do if I want to attend a training course?
If you would like to attend one of the CSA’s training courses, email csatraining@ru.ac.za.
Would you be able to conduct training in my country?
The CSA trainers are willing to conduct in-country training in the form of exposure workshops. Please check the CSA’s training calendar to check if we are already planning to visit your country.
What if you have already been to my country?
The CSA will return to countries they have already visited to conduct exposure workshops where there is sufficient demand. Check our training calendar for upcoming training sessions, or email your query to: csatraining@ru.ac.za.
What does the assignment for the Fundamentals of Social Accountability Monitoring entail?
The assignment involves a reflection on what participants learnt and how they could or could not apply it in their own country- and organisation-specific context. It takes the form of an organisational report back (minimum 8 pages and maximum 10 pages) in which participants will be asked to engage with the following questions:
- What is social accountability and what is the social accountability system?
- What are three different approaches to social accountability and how does this relate to your organisation?
- How do your organisation’s current work practices and goals relate (or do not relate) to the social accountability system?
- Which process(es) could your organisation monitor or influence if it started social accountability monitoring.
A letter from the participant’s immediate supervisor, making a commitment to allow the participant two weeks over the six weeks following the training to work on the assignment, must be sent with the completed application form.
Do you provide support after training sessions for organisations who decide to implement the monitoring tools?
The CSA does offer support for organisations, ranging from email and telephonic support and, occasionally, additional country visits. Peer learning and support is also facilitated through the use of an online learning environment, RU Connected. The CSA has also recently embarked on a mentoring programme.
